Upwards is a “I see you”.
Downwards is a “I respect you”.
It’s not taught, it’s innate
reflex in our DNA. Wherever we go
that’s my blood,
my bro, brethren,
the nod on the street,
in the corridor of foreign lands,
in whatever language, in whatever quarter
this is how we break bread
this is how we say, “peace be with you”.
